Here are our teams best bet and best roughie for racing on Saturday July 8:

Shane Templeton

Flemington Race 6, No. 4 Charlevoix
She is beginning to fulfil early potential, is well drawn and crushed a similar field last start. Should win again.

Race 8 No. 12 Kirani
He will be the second outsider of the field but can be in this for a long way. Getting up to 1200 m, will lead or be right on the speed and there are several swoopers in this.

Adam McGrath

Belmont Race 6, No. 2 Gatting
Gee he ticks a lot of boxes in this race, extra 400m, back in form and soft track. Last years derby winner should get a nice run in transit from barrier 7, where as Variation will hopefully have to do a bit of work from barrier 11. Stable and ownership group had a $47 and $72 winner on Wednesday, so they are low flying. Get on!

Belmont Race 8, No. 10 By Decree
I’m with the Mcauliffe and Autier team again here, gets her ideas conditions as she loves a rain affected track. From barrier 2 she’ll have an economical run in transit and at the double figure odds looks a great each way chance.

Andrew Oldmeadow

Warwick Farm, Race 1, No. 5 Awesome Pluck
This bloke could’t have been more impressive in his debut victory. Concede that it was only at Taree, but it was a $40,000 race and he gave them a towelling after sitting 4 and 5 wide the trip. I think he might be pretty special, if thats the case, he’ll take care of this lot.

Flemington Race 3, No. 2 A Lotta Love
I was really keen on this girl last time out, but she just got to far back unfortunately, still ran home in slick time of 11.80 for his final furlong. The 1400m looks a perfect step up now and drawn ok, she’s a classy animal on her day and I’m happy to be on her at the each way odds.

David Taggart

Warwick Farm Race 3, No.1 Collateral
My best again and he just keeps on winning. Was his first go over the trip last time and handled it no worries, you would think he will only improve from that. Meets a similar field here whom he beat as he liked last start. the only knock you can have is the weight but gets the claim of 2kg for young Heywood.

Randwick Race 6 No. 7 Suspenders
At huge odds here $26 this filly has been running out of her depth of late and hasn’t been finishing that far off them. Will race on the pace in a race where there are not may world beaters. Worth a bet at the each way odds.

Alex Marsh

Gawler Race 7, No 7 Dollar for Dollar
Looks the clear standout at Gawler on what looks a tough day, lightly raced and progressive 4yo who showed good fight to win first up here a few weeks ago and this really isn’t most difficult step. If he handles what looks a pretty wet track then he should just be winning. $3.00.

Gawler Race 3, No 4 Pale Ale
Ex Sydney horse having his first start in South Australia, has had two solid trials (the last one in good time) leading into this so I’d suggest they’d have him ready to go. This is much weaker than his previous opposition and the experienced Shayne Cahill is on. On class he looks over the odds. $8.00.

Brock Anderson

Doomben Race 3, No. 5 Darktown Strutter
This filly has come back this prep in white hot form, she demoralized the opposition first up at Ipswich before winning in a hand canter last time out, although she is up in grade I honestly believe this bonny little filly is stakes class, she will be peaking third up today and she will jump lead and win it’s that simple. Get on!

Doomben Race 2, No 9 Kings Legend
This boy from the very strong Chris Munce yard is a really nice up and coming young horse, he has plenty of ability and had no luck at all last start where he got dragged back to last before weaving his way through the field in the home straight and he wasn’t beaten far, he will be peaking third up today and he has a booming finish on him so look for him flying home late, the $10.00 that is currently available is ridiculous overs and he will be there when the whips are cracking.
