GEELONG SYNTHETIC – FRIDAY, JUNE 23

By Andrew Oldmeadow @aoldmeadow3

Rail Position: Out 9m entire circuit

Track Conditions: Good 4

Track Comments: Rail out a fair way, might favour on-pacers early before they start to make ground later in the day.

Race 5, No. 1 Channing
Has been a shade disappointing this preparation, but finds himself in an extremely winnable race. Hasn’t seen a 58 rater before and I’m banking on him just being better then these. Drawn a bit sticky, but should go back anyway and be finishing over the top of them.

Race 7, No. 7 Sammy The Snake
It’s been 28 months since this bloke has seen a BM64, obviously he’s been given a substantial weight, but gets in ok with the 3kg claim from Lucinda Doodt. There’s no world beaters in this and we know Sammy will certainly stay the 2460m. Has also enjoyed his time at the track, 2 starts for a second and a third. Good each way chance at around the $8.

Steven Pateman is only 4 months into his training career, but he’s enjoyed his time at Geelong, both of his career wins have come at this track. He has two runners today, R1 Cape to Cairo and R5 Surging Wave.

Race 2, No. 5 Red Liberty
Fair push for this Danny O’Brien trained son of Ifraaj. $100,000 purchase he’s been $6 into $3.70 favourite with D.Oliver to do the steering.

Race 6 Leg 1) 1,3,6,7,8,9,10
Race 7 Leg 2) 1,3,7,10,12
Race 8 Leg 3) 3,6,8,12
Race 9 Leg 4) 6,7
