Rail Position: Out 3m

Track Conditions: Soft 5

Track Comments: We get a soft track today, I’d expect that he inside will get a little chopped up, so they will be getting to the middle/outside later in the day.

Race 6, No. 8 Sharpbob
Ultra consistent son of Famous Roman, who is rarely far away. Loves the track and distance (9: 2,4,3) and has drawn nicely in 1. Will push forward and be mighty hard to get past late. We might even be able to get an each way price.

Race 8, No. 3 Press The Petal
This mare couldn’t have been any more impressive last start in the same grade. Extra 200m looks ideal and she’s drawn nicely for Johnston-Porter. I think she has quite the bright future and will be off to bigger and better things after beating this lot.

Race 2, No. 4 Magic Opus
Bombed the start badly last time out and it was always going to be hard from there. Start previous, she jumps nicely, before doing a bit of work to get to the lead, in the straight she’s extremely brave before just going down. If she can be away fairly and lead, she will be hard to get past late. Big price at $9.

Skye Bogenhuber makes her first appearance in the West since making the move from her Toowoomba base. She jumps straight in the deep-end, with her first ride being on the race 1 favourite Friar Away who has been very well supported in early markets.

Race 1, No. 2 Friar Away
As mentioned above, this 3yo son of Blackfriars from the Justine Erkelens stable has been extremely well supported. Opened at $5.50, it’s now race favourite at $4.
